Chiropractor for Kids in Colleyville: 7 Questions Parents Ask Before the First Visit
Parents tend to ask the same handful of questions before bringing a child to a chiropractor. Here are straight answers, including the places where the research is still limited.
1. Is it safe?
Pediatric care looks very different from adult care. Adjustments for children are light and adapted to each child’s age and stage of development. For a newborn, that means very gentle contact, not the kind of movement you may picture from an adult visit.
We also want to be honest that the research on chiropractic care for children is limited. For example, a Cochrane review of manipulative therapies for infant colic concluded there were not enough data to reach definitive conclusions about safety. That is why we start with a careful evaluation, keep contact gentle, and refer to your pediatrician or another provider whenever something looks like it belongs there.
2. Will it hurt?
Our approach starts with listening, education and trust. We explain each step before we do it and answer your questions along the way. Many people are nervous before a first chiropractic visit, and we believe care should feel collaborative, not intimidating.
3. What happens at the first visit?
- We listen first. You tell us what you have noticed and what you are hoping for.
- A gentle evaluation. We look at posture, movement and how your child holds and uses their body.
- CLA INSiGHT scans, when appropriate. These are non-invasive and measure heart rate variability, surface EMG and thermography to give us objective information about the nervous system.
- A plain-English recommendation. You hear what we found, what we recommend and why, and you decide what to do next.
If we do not think chiropractic care is the right fit, we will tell you. Not every child needs it.
4. What do kids come in for?
Parents bring children in for many reasons, including sleep challenges, colic, reflux, movement or posture concerns, recurring aches after sports or long days at a desk, and general wellness. For newborns, families often mention a baby who seems to favor turning one way or one side when feeding, which can be a sign of torticollis, a tight neck muscle in babies.
A chiropractic evaluation does not replace your child’s pediatrician. Anything that worries you, and especially a fever in a young baby, trouble breathing or feeding, or unusual sleepiness, belongs with your pediatrician or emergency care first.
5. How many visits will it take?
It depends on the child and the goal. Some children benefit from more frequent visits early on, and visits typically space out as things improve. We do not believe in creating dependence. We explain what we recommend and why, and you decide how much care you want.
6. Does my child need to be adjusted to be healthy?
Not necessarily. Plenty of healthy kids never need chiropractic care. The reason to come in is a specific concern or a goal you have, and the evaluation is how we find out whether chiropractic care makes sense for it.
7. What does it cost?
Radiant is a cash-based practice. That lets us build care around what your child needs rather than what an insurance policy dictates, and we can provide receipts for potential out-of-network benefits and HSA/FSA reimbursement. Our payment options page lays out pricing before you book.
Call your pediatrician or get emergency care first if…
A chiropractor is not the first call for these:
- Any fever in a baby under three months old.
- Trouble breathing, or a child who is hard to wake.
- A baby who will not feed, or repeated forceful vomiting.
- Any symptom that worries you and does not feel like something to wait on.

I’ve only been a patient with Dr. Cameron for a few months and I can absolutely tell you he’s the best chiropractor I’ve been to. He takes the time to create a treatment plan that’s right for you and is actually invested in making sure you leave feeling better. The concerns I initially visited Dr. Cameron for have corrected themselves without the need for invasive surgery or heavy medication. If you haven’t been getting the results with your current chiropractor or are just looking for someone you can trust with your health, I’d strongly recommend setting up an appointment to see Dr. Cameron. You’ll be glad you did.Posted on Google![]()

Working with Dr. Cameron has been great. He’s very thorough in diagnosing and explaining what’s causing my back issues. The appointments are efficient, and I always feel better after. Plus, he gave me exercises/stretches to work on at home so it’s a holistic approach to help with longer term prevention of problems. I would definitely recommend him.Posted on Google![]()

Dr. Cameron is an amazing chiropractor who focuses on the issues and creates a plan to adjust the issues to sustainable living. Went from migraine/tension headaches daily to having nothing for past 2 weeks. I had an accident that put me out of alignment, yet Dr. Cameron has taken the time to assess and progress with each area and issue. Has alleviated numbness in my fingers from my wrist issue and recovering a majority of the lost flexibility in my neck. Posture is improving and the tension I carried between my shoulder blades to the base of my neck is relieved.Posted on Google![]()
